INSET 2025-26
"A great teacher never stops learning."
Our dedicated faculty traded their lesson plans for seats in our latest Professional
Development workshop sessions under the ‘INSET 2025-26’ banner. Conducted by Aruj
Khaliq,
Oxford trained development scientist and Head of Academics, the IB Continuum training, dove
deep into ‘AI in the Classroom’; Evidencing learning, managing learners and learning
environments, standardization, moderation and effective evaluation. A key moment was the
introductory seminar for the addition of CP (Career-related Programme] to ensure we’re
bringing the very best strategies back to our students, readying them for the skill-specific
economy of the future.
Watching our team collaborate and share their expertise was a powerful reminder that
our
school stands for growth—for our students, and our educators too.
A big team cheer as we begin Term II!

IB PAK x LAI Professional Development Workshop 2025
Learning Alliance International proudly hosted the IBPAK Professional Development Workshops
2025, welcoming 200+ IB practitioners from 16 schools across Punjab.
Led by 10 expert workshop leaders, the day-long sessions offered rich, collaborative
learning across the IB Continuum - PYP, MYP, DP & CP. The workshops fostered reflection,
skill-building, and meaningful dialogue, making it a truly enriching professional learning
experience for educators committed to excellence in IB education.
Rubric Workshop 2025
Rubrics are an assessment tool used by IB for MYP students. A rubric outlines specific criterion upon which a child’s performance is assessed and it provides descriptors for different levels of performance. Rubrics create an objective method of scoring as students are evaluated on formerly identified descriptors for performance. This ensures fairness in marking and provides clarity to students on tested materials, expectations and standards. The Rubrics Workshop gave parents and students a detailed overview of this assessment tool and how it is applied by each subject in the Middle Years Programme.

INSET 2023
LAI - INSET : Making INQUIRY visible in IB
Excellence is an outcome of consistent habits, conscious choices and repetitive attempts at pursuing it. In order to equip our teaching team with novel pedagogical strategies aligned with both the requisites of 21st Century classrooms and the rigors of International Baccalaureate frameworks, an intensive INSET (In School Educational Training) was conducted at the start of Term II. The INSET titled Making INQUIRY Visible was designed for IB teachers across the Continuum ( PYP , MYP , DP ) and engaged teachers from all subject groups. Over the course of two days the participants explored: different inquiry frameworks starting from classical inquiry cycle by John Dewey to modern frameworks by Kath Murdoc and multiple strategies of Visible Thinking from Harvard University's Project Zero. The workshop series designed and lead by Ms. Aruj Khaliq enabled the participants to embed concrete linkages for making Inquiry Visible through the use of thinking routines. The sessions concluded with all IB teachers collaboratively presenting links with the existing curriculum, validating the effectiveness of the Thinking Routines for designing inquiry. The participants left the workshop venue packed with tools to use in their classrooms and with the aim to build that ecosystem which makes INQUIRY Visible.

MARCH 2014
INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE AUTHORIZED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP/CONFERENCE
- SINGAPORE.
The IB Faculty has returned from Singapore after attending the International Baccalaureate authorized Professional Development Workshops/Conference.
Previously the entire faculty had successfully completed the Category 1 Online Training and upon the recommendation of IB officials they were sent to Singapore for Category 3 ‘face to face’ training, skipping Category 2. These recommendations were based on the unit planners, rubrics, assessments, and reflections of teachers that were submitted to the IB officials. We take pride in, and would like to commend the efforts of the IB Team in achieving this milestone within twelve months of its inception at Learning Alliance.
Collectively, the faculty feels that the exposure and professional development they have
received in Singapore will play an instrumental role in implementing the IB MYP curriculum
at Learning Alliance.
The primary objective of training was to help the teachers in taking students beyond content onto the conceptual level through comprehensive unit planning. The faculty has come back more confident, and seeks to weave the IB philosophy of producing lifelong learners with a truly international minded approach, into the very fabric of the Learning Alliance IB MYP curriculum.
Additionally, the LA IB Faculty interacted with facilitators from all over the Asia Pacific region including Singapore, India, UAE, Bangladesh, Australia, Indonesia, and China. The LA IB Faculty also visited IB World Schools and observed classes and students in action. They have brought back many wonderful ideas and have prepared a document to share their plan of implementation which the Lahore Preschool & CIE stream may even find quite useful. Overall, through this exposure and networking Learning Alliance has made its mark in the world of International Baccalaureate.
