An IBO survey showed that the acceptance rate of IB students into Ivy League universities is up to 18% higher than the total acceptance rate. According to the University of Southern California (USC), students who undertake an IB curriculum are well-prepared for the rigours of university academic life and that IB courses are factored into the admission evaluation process because USC recognizes the extreme rigour of such a curriculum.
“MYP prepared me for subject selection when the DP years began. I had the chance to learn about everything offered in the areas of the arts, technology, humanities, sciences and language. In retrospect, I am grateful for the choices I had because not every education comes with such an emphasis on being a balanced learner.”
Alison Li, McGill University, Canada.
“I would encourage current IB students to be innovative and take advantage of the opportunities the IB diploma provides for expanding their creativity. Let your IB education serve as a springboard to lifelong learning and exploration, not the conclusion. When you continue on this path of intellectual curiosity and lifelong learning, there is no limit to what you can accomplish.”
