Societies

Learning Alliance International offers all its students a myriad of opportunities to develop and build on activities of their choice. Societies are run by patrons who nurture the interest and talent of the members in their respective societies.

The Student Council
The Student Council is a team of students, selected and appointed by the School Management to support the interests and welfare of fellow students. The school frequently holds events including concerts, fundraisers, bake sales to support charity organisations that are selected by the Student Council. These events are planned, organised and conducted by the council members.

The Media and Publications Society
The Media and Publications Society holds regular workshops and competitions for photography and design. It documents all internal school events and manages the LAeye, the LAI insta platform. The Society collaborates with other societies and helps with the school’s electronic and print publications like the Newsletter and the Annual Magazine .

The Visual Arts Society

The Visual Arts Society is responsible for putting up exhibitions and various art fairs in school. Members participate in an array of activities ranging from painting landscapes to making art installations and making still life.

LAI E-CAS

This Society brings together students who wish to give back to the community in terms of time and funds. The society aims to instill in students social awareness on current issues and concern for the environment and volunteering for the Community, Activity and Service is at the core of the IB. Its more recent contributions have gone towards the flood victims this year. The Arthritis Care Foundation is a trust for Rheumatic Diseases providing patient care, education, rheumatology training and research. Learning Alliance International is a supporter of ACF and donates to this charity generously.

Society for Business and Entrepreneurship 
The Society for Business and Entrepreneurship holds internal competitions on current business issues and workshops on start ups. It attends and represents Learning Alliance International in external events hosted by other schools around the country.

STEM Society
With keen Science students as its members, the society holds the Inter-house Rube Goldberg Science Competition, holds regular workshops about STEM learning and also organises the Annual Science Fair.

The Sports Society
The Sports Society has the opportunity to represent the school in inter-school and intra-school sporting events. The school has a very strong Chess, football, swimming and basketball team that plays and holds regular practice sessions and Annual Championships. Archery and Futsal are new additions to the wide array of sporting events held each year.

The Film Society
The purpose of the LAI film club is to view and study film after school as well as to make productions. The film club is designed to give students an opportunity to view and study film after school and also to use the facilities and equipment of to produce their own films. The group has a goal of sponsoring a film festival at the end of the school year to showcase student productions.
